Proof of Wealth (specie-proofofwealth.vercel.app) is operated by PaintedApp, LLC, 1327 SE Tacoma St #394, Portland, OR 97202 (“we”), as part of Specie, a house of satirical painting. By buying from us you agree to these terms. Questions go to support@painted.app.
What we sell
Giclée prints on canvas and on Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper of the ten pictures in the Whale series, made by the house with an image model and printed by our lab. They are not painted by hand, signed or gilded. Each piece is an edition of 25 across every size. The Genesis canvas is The Genesis Block with a plaque set in type in its engraved cartouche, printed as part of the image, set from a date you choose.
Prices and payment
Prices are in US dollars, set by us on the server at the moment you check out, and paid by card through Stripe. Any figure in sats is a translation of the dollar price at the last close in our price file; it is not an offer to accept bitcoin, and we do not accept it. Promotion codes, where offered, are applied at Stripe’s checkout.
Editions and the ledger
Your copy takes the next number for its piece when your payment clears, in the order payments were made. The number is recorded on the public ledger with the piece, size and date, never your name. If two payments arrive for the last copy at once, the later is refunded in full and the edition stays at 25. We will not print more than 25 of any piece, in any size, and we will not reissue a number. A number refunded for any reason is retired, so an edition can close at fewer than 25.
The Genesis plaque
The plaque shows your date, the height of the first bitcoin block mined after midnight UTC on that date as reported by mempool.space when you set it, and the day’s close in US dollars from the Coin Metrics community daily file. You approve the proof before you pay, and we print what you approved. We do not guarantee the accuracy of third-party data beyond printing it as those sources reported it; the proof links to both so you can check.
Not a financial product
A canvas from us is a decorative print. We make no claim that it will hold or gain value, and nothing on this site is investment, tax or financial advice.
Delivery
We deliver inside the United States, with insured delivery included in the price. Title and risk pass to you on delivery. Returns, damage and refunds are covered on the Returns and refunds page.
Copyright and satire
We keep the copyright in every picture. Buying a print gives you the print, to hang, lend, sell or give away, and not the right to reproduce the image. The series is satire. The Whale is our own character; no picture depicts a real person, and no company or product named in a title endorses us.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability for any order is limited to the price you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits a right you have that the law does not allow us to limit.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, and disputes are heard in its courts, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them at home.
Changes
We may update these terms; the version on the day you ordered governs your order, and every change is dated on the Legal notices page.
